I have been painting with acrylics since about 2006, and, like many artists, I am self taught.
Before picking up a paint brush, I had been drawing in pencils and pastels for about 11 years (again self-taught).
I decided to try my hand at painting, as I was looking for a medium where I could 'loosen' my style a bit, as I tend to pay a lot of attention to detail, and wanted to get away from that a little.
For my acrylic paintings I use a range of surfaces.
I use acrylic paper,
coloured card, acrylic board, oil board, and canvas.
Most of my work on canvas is painted using a piece of sponge, to allow me to paint with less detail.
I have also dabbled a little in watercolours, which you will find on my Watercolour Paintings page, but find I do prefer to paint with acrylics.
My paintings and drawings are much like a photo album for me, and represent 'memories' of different times in my life.
I love to paint a range of subjects, with animals, birds, and landscapes among my favourites. In fact, I love to paint any subject that is dear to my heart.
I hope you enjoy looking at the paintings that I have done, and please feel free to purchase if you so wish.
If you don't see anything you like, then you can always commission me to do a painting from your own photograph. Please visit my Commissions page for more details.
Thank you for looking at Paintings etc
